I've had a beard for the better part of the last decade. I've tried to grow it out a few times over the years but for some reason or other it's never lasted and I've always ended up trimming it back to it's familiar length. For the past two months or so I've resisted the urge to cut it off and it's reached what I feel is a respectable length. I recently picked up a ring light and made a self portrait to see what the quality of light it was able to produce and to document a beard that I doubt I will ever allow to reach this length again.
